John Boorman's 1970 film 'Leo the Last' was shot in the area, as the old houses, on the site of what are now the Walkways, were being torn down. Kidulthood (2006) and Adulthood (2008), written and directed by British filmmaker Noel Clarke, were partially filmed on the estate. There are also glimpses of the area in Otley (1968) and The Lavender Hill Mob (1954).
